Vladimir Agasaryan learned how to play chess when he was six. He stopped after two years, as he wanted to try other sports. He subsequently developed a particular interest in boxing and martial arts. In his final year of school he discovered chessboxing, and started to play chess again.


In 2012 Vladimir accomplished his dream of becoming World Middleweight Chessboxing Champion. He is currently World Lightweight Chessboxing Champion.


Vladimir teaches chess at six schools for Chess in Schools and Communities and greatly enjoys spending so much time helping kids.


Outside of chess Vladimir enjoys meditation, travelling, and reading philosophical and esoteric books. He is from Armenia, but has spent most of his life in Lithuania. When he competes, he does so under a flag of love, peace, friendship and equality between all beings.
