Sorin Atanasiu is a humanities teacher from Romania. He learnt chess in his childhood but began studying it more rigorously in his twenties. He believes that the human race is not completely lost (spiritually speaking) and that our purpose in life should be to expand our horizons.

Chess allows us to enhance our state of consciousness, teaching children to contemplate problems and find the answers naturally. Sorin believes and hopes - that future generations will approach chess in an egoless manner, as if they were spectators rather than competitors. The result would be second to the beauty and aesthetics of the game.
