Zena Brabazon began playing chess when she was six years old, soon becoming an active member of the school chess club. She captained the school team and played in tournaments in London and the south east. After a long career in community development, followed by running and managing early years and after school services, she became a local councillor.

Thatís when she became aware of Chess in Schools and Communities and applied to become a CSC tutor. She is currently running a chess club in Seven Sisters Primary School in Tottenham and hopes to work in some more schools in the next year. She loves teaching the children and seeing the pleasure they get from learning such a challenging and intellectually stretching game.
