I discovered chess during my college days. Completely fascinated by my friends deep in thought, I took the plunge and tried it. I decided to get serious about chess in 2008, so I joined Ilford chess club.

It was there that I was encouraged to get involved with the junior players and I discovered an ability to work well with them. I was able to help some of them such as Adiyta Verma, Dion Huang and Naoimi Wei who have developed into promising juniors.

I began teaching chess at a number of Secondary and Primary schools and at Eastside Young Leaders Academy (EYLA) which deals with young people with challenging behaviour. I relocated from London to Birmingham after which I joined Chess in Schools and Communities and I currently teach at Primary schools and a number of Pupil Referral Units within the Birmingham Area.
