Pro-Biz Cup, 9 December 2020

The 2020 Pro-Biz Cup brings business minds, England’s leading players plus guest Grandmasters together in an online tournament to be staged on Twitch.tv/chesscomevents 9th December 2020 at 18.00 UK 13.00 EST. The tournament is a fundraiser for Chess in Schools and Communities.

Businesses team up with chess professionals to learn and play with them in a fun format, in which the business leaders make alternate moves as they take on other Pro-Am pairs in rapid chess. Each team will have 20 minutes on the clock for all their moves (plus an additional 5 seconds per move). The amateurs will be able to take a couple of two-minute timeouts, during which time they can consult with their GM partners.

You can get involved by following the broadcast at Twitch.tv/chesscomevents where Maria Emelianova and IM Malcolm Pein will commentate on the 7 games in progress.

You can also bid for one of these signed boards in the broadcast or by emailing [email protected]. Bids close at end of play, there will be regular updates on the stream.

You can also follow the games on Chess.com by going to chess.com/livechess and typing /follow playername so for example to follow Mickey Adams type /followGMMickeyAdams.

See signed boards and bid or to give a Christmas gift of a donation to Chess in Schools and Communities.
