Chess in the House of Commons

One of the schools attending the London Chess Classic received a huge boost ahead of their visit - a good luck message from their MP. Wendy Morton, MP for Aldridge-Brownhills in Walsall, took to the floor of the House of Commons during Education Questions and asked the Minister to support the participation of her constituency school, Meadow View Primary School at the Emirates Stadium the following day. Secretary of State Bridget Phillipson was delighted to oblige, and indeed sent all of the children attending our event her very best wishes.

We are delighted that chess is making the news and being discussed in the corridors of power! You can watch a clip of the parliamentary action here.
