LB Hackney end of year tournament

CSC’s activities in the London borough of Hackney have grown considerably over the past two years. In the 2025/26 we expect to be teaching in 17 schools across the borough, running both lessons and after-school clubs.

At the end of this academic year, eight of this year’s schools took part in a borough tournament, kindly hosted by Grasmere Primary School. Each school sent in a team of 5 players who competed in a Swiss tournament, scoring three points for each win, two for a draw, and a single point for a loss. At the end of five games the scores were totted up and medals awarded for the highest performances. Grasmere took home the trophy for the winning team while every child went home with some CSC goodies.

The games were all played in an excellent spirit and the standard of chess was superb. Our congratulations to everyone who took part.
