Chess in Malawi

While CSC has a focus on England and Wales, we are always happy to hear of chess projects elsewhere in the world and will endeavour to provide support where we can. We were recently delighted to provide some free chess sets to the Butterfly Foundation for Peace, an organisation that works with the street children of Malawi, offering them an education programme aimed at developing self-esteem, generosity, and kindness. Our chess sets have already found their way to Africa and were gratefully received by the children there.

Our huge thanks to Gill Rawlinson for delivering the sets while recently visiting the Butterfly Foundation for Peace’s project. Gill also delivered some recorders to give the children the chance to learn music alongside chess. We look forward to hearing more about this amazing project soon.
