CSC Girls’ Tournament in Liverpool

CSC is always keen to encourage more girls to play chess, to address a historic imbalance in the game. Our primary school classroom lessons are delivered during the school day and are fully inclusive: girls perform just as well as boys. We are keen to see this success feed through to older age groups and to competitive chess across the country.

With this in mind, CSC is organising a girls’ chess tournament in Liverpool on Sunday 26th April. Held at Holly Lodge Girls’ College, the tournament is open to players of all standards, from beginner to expert. There will be prizes for the winners and masterclasses for everyone. The event is a partnership between CSC, the Merseyside Chess Association, and She Plays to Win, a charity with which CSC has collaborated in the past. Entries are open now and must be received by 31st March if you’d like to take part. Good luck!
