Chess Meets Boxing II

CSC was invited to former World Champion Tasif Khan's Boxing Academy in Bradford on Saturday 31st January by Tasif and board member and future CSC tutor Dr Sohail Ahmed. CSC Yorkshire Coordinator, Dan Staples, attended along with CSC tutors and local players, David Barlow and Nick Mullan. The three visited the academy and gave a taster session to over 40 children and adults from the local community. 

Tasif Khan talked about how boxing was as much mental as physical. After warming up by attacking punchbags, the children, coaches and parents set about attacking kings! Dan said "it was wonderful to visit Tasif's gym and meet the coaches, children and parents. We taught them the moves and I was impressed with their speed of learning. It was a great day and I hope it can help kick off an expansion of chess in Bradford."
