Leeds University graduation ceremonies delayed the teams but they all arrived in the end. Ireland Wood's Deputy Head, Jen Green was a great host and they children played some really good games. Players remembered to shake hands before each round and the games were played in great spirit.

Medals were awards for the highest individual scores. Our congratulations to everyone who took part in a very enjoyable day.

Ben Farrar, Headteacher of Stanningley Primary School added, “We had a great morning, I thought the standard of chess was high, the tournament was well organised- a great atmosphere. The children came back buzzing and there was a great post- match debrief between the children on the journey home.”
