Merseyside meet-up
Our CSC Merseyside team has grown considerably over the past few years - they now teach in nearly 50 schools every week as well as running tournaments, chess academies, libraries clubs and much more. Later this year they’ll be hosting two of our flagship events in the area: our annual schools tournament at St George’s Hall and the 6th ChessFest Liverpool in Chavasse Park.
While they are extremely busy with their teaching work, our Regional Coordinator Rob Steele ensures the tutors are well supported with CPD, much of that provided by our Centre of Excellence Whitefield Primary School. There’s also always time for a team meet-up where our tutors can get together to discuss best practice, challenges they are facing in the classroom, and any training needs. The most recent such gathering took place recently at Liverpool Central Library. Several tutors met to discuss their work for CSC over a cup of coffee and, inevitably, over a game of chess.
CSC is still looking to expand in Merseyside and will have plenty of opportunities for new tutors. If you’d like to join the team, please fill in this form and one of our colleagues will be in touch to take you through the recruitment process.
