Success in the Major Open

Our congratulations to Bohdan Terler who achieved great success in the Major Open tournament at the British Chess Championships in Liverpool over the summer. Bohdan was competing in the event for the first time and faced tough adult opponents from across the UK. Despite this, he achieved a magnificent result, finishing in 10th place and securing a coveted qualifying spot for next year’s British Championships themselves.

Bohdan arrived in the UK in 2022, fleeing the fighting in his native Ukraine. Since then, CSC has been providing him support in the form of coaching from Grandmaster and England International Nick Pert. We are delighted to see this, along with Bohdan’s hard work, paying such great dividends.
