CSC and Newham Council conducted and Impact Study to the effect of CSC provision in Primary schools in the London Borough of Newham.

The Headteacher at St Francis stated that:

“Chess has had a positive impact in developingour children’s reasoning and analytical skills, and has supported our work at the school to developthat.” She went on to highlight that the school chose to include chess within curriculum time, because of the benefit they saw: “We do a lot of reasoning with them, to try to develop their criticalskills, and that’s why we chose to replace one day of maths. We wouldn’t have done that lightly”
