CSC returned to the magnificent Livery Hall in the Guildhall to run the fifth edition of this tournament on behalf of the City of London Corporation. A record 127 children took part from 10 schools in the City of London's Family of Schools:

After a morning of lessons and coaching led by CSC tutors, the tournament began in earnest after lunch. Primary and secondary school pupils competed together in a 6-round Swiss. The competition was intense, but was played in an extremely sporting manner. Medals were awarded for the highest individual scores and trophies for the winning schools. CSC Trustee and Grandmaster Will Watson presented the prizes alongside the City of London Corporation's Strategic Director for Education and Skills, Deborah Bell.

This year's winning schools were:

Secondary trophy: City of London School

Primary trophy: The Aldgate School

Our congratulations to all the players for making this such an enjoyable event.
