The MP for Stalybridge & Hyde Jonathan Reynolds visited CSC Chess Club in Stalyhill Junior School shortly before the end of the academic year to see the schools chess progression for himself. 

One Year Three Pupil ( Joseph O'Neil) almost scored a victory over the MP, here they are below with game faces on.

Mr Reynolds said "It was absolutely fantastic to see how much the kids get out of playing chess...I started playing in primary school and it makes you think laterally, plan ahead and learn new skills."

CSC cannot wait to invite the MP back again next year, and hopefully even the score.
